Well over a few hundred tuba players to perform all our favorite Christmas tunes and other seasonal music at the Rockefeller Rink.

Christmas Tree Lighting & Ice Show

Where else on earth will thousands and thousands gather for the lighting a single tree? NYC that's where! Join in this fantastic event which is televised nationwide and perhaps even across the seas. Entertainment, Singing, and yes, our Mayor too! The tallest tree so far was the 100-foot Norway Spruce from Killingworth, Conn. in 1948. Maybe this year's will be taller? Over 25,000 lightbulbs are used to light the tree. Amazing huh? They span a distance of over 5 miles.

The event which is televised nationwide and has local Television Stars amongst others. The Mayor himself would often take part in this yearly tradition.

Previous years' music was provided by the likes of Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks, Destiny's Child, Marc Anthony, and more....Even the Rockettes were there! So join in on the fun this year since you won't be sorry!

Holiday Laser Light Shows

The popular Holiday Laser Light Shows returns to Grand Central this year! The lasers, which debuted on Grand Central Terminal's famous Sky Ceiling of the in 1999, are back again with a special 90th Anniversary Show to celebrate Grand Central reaching this milestone. In addition, six other shows which feature the ceiling's constellations transforming into snowmen, skiers, famous city buildings and more, all dancing to holiday favorites like "Frosty the Snowman," "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "The Skater's Waltz". These rotating Laser Light Shows run for five-minutes each and take place every half-hour each day between 11:00 AM and 9:00 PM.

South Street Seaport's Christmas Tree, Chorus and Strolling Santa

There's the strolling Santa and the St. Cecilia Chorus singing out Christmas Tunes as they decorate the huge tree at the Seaport.

New York City is famous for its holiday attractions and The Chorus Tree at South Street Seaport is one of the city's most popular. During the holidays, the Seaport is bustling with holiday festivities and the Chorus Tree is at the center of the activity. The beautifully decorated Chorus Tree with thousands of white lights stands over 50 feet tall. This annual tradition has drawn millions of visitors worldwide to the historic financial district over the past 15 years.

There are always Choral programs through the holidays with special performances on Christmas Eve and New Years Day.

The Chorus Tree

Experience the Chorus Tree, a beloved downtown New York tradition, which is unveiled at the South Street Seaport. The tree, which stands 50-feet tall and is beautifully decorated with thousands of twinkling white lights, will feature this year, the world renowned Big Apple Chorus. The Big Apple Chorus is New York City's premier acappella singing organization comprised of talented men from all over the Tri-State area.

The Big Apple Chorus will perform your favorite holiday tunes at the Chorus Tree every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with six performances throughout the weekend. Performances, which last for approximately 45 minutes, begin on Fridays at 6:00pm and 7:00pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00pm and 4:00pm through December 28th 2003. Visit the Seaport for a special performance on Christmas Eve, December 24th at 3:00pm and 4:00pm.

NYC Marathon - 5 borough, 26.2 mile race

Taking place on the first Sunday of November with over 30,000 entrants, 12,000 volunteers and more than 2 million spectators along the route and hundreds of millions worldwide.

Village Halloween Parade - 6th Avenue - Entering into its 30th celebration is the Annual Halloween Parade. Come on down and see all the ghouls and goblins. It's a huge attraction with more than 2 million spectators. "It's the largest public participatory event in the greatest city in the world." So, if you show up in a costume then you're welcomed to join the parade.
