Christmas Tree Lighting & Ice Show

December 7th at 9:00pm
212-332-7654
Where else on earth will thousands and thousands gather for the lighting a single tree? NYC that's where! Join in this fantastic event which is televised nationwide and perhaps even across the seas. Entertainment, Singing, and yes, our Mayor too!

A 100-foot tree in 1948 was the tallest in Rockefeller Center history, and came from the Killingworth, Conn., yard of Jim and Cathy Thomson. ''It looks like it belongs here,'' said Jim Thomson, who was joined by 20 family members for the lighting ceremony. ''It was ours, now it belongs to the world.'' Maybe this year's will be taller?

Over 25,000 lightbulbs are used to light the tree. Amazing huh? They span a distance of over 5 miles.

The event which is televised nationwide on has local Television Stars amongst others. The Mayor himself would often take part in this yearly tradition.

At one year's show music was provided by the likes of Tony Bennett, Stevie Nicks, Destiny's Child, Marc Anthony, and more....Even the Rockettes were there! So join in on the fun this year since you won't be sorry!
