New York > New York Hotels > Book this hotelWest End Studios Hotel hotel description>>
I have never stayed in a place like it. We were in a party of 4 people and had 2 rooms. Both were really bad. The rooms smelt like a drain and of urine. The beds were tiny, the blankets and sheets were not clean, the doors would not lock properly, the windows were boarded up, there was not 1 fire escape, the sink was cracked and had not been cleaned in years, lead pipe work in the rooms, it was dusty and dirty, all wood work had wood worm which had been re-painted, toilet seats were cracked, the fridge sounded as if it was goin to blow up and was filthy, electrical fittings had bare wires. The hotel left you feeling dirty, unsafe, vulnerable and very disgusted. It is an accident / tradegy waiting to happen. We even didnt un-pack our luggage. We checked out and went to stay at the Confort Inn which was much better. The staff at the West End did not seem to be surprised when we checked out. DO NOT BELIEVE the photographs. They dont look like they were taken in the same hotel. If you do stay there, just make sure you wipe ur feet on the way out!!!!!
If you want a comfortable and clean place to stop then I suggest you stay away from this place. We were disgusted with what we had paid for so we checked into a Comfort Inn instead and stayed there for our holiday. We managed to get a refund and pay for just the one night (even though we never stopped) and the cancellation fee but it was worth it just to get away from this dive they call a hotel. The room was dull, cramped, dirty and the bathroom was just as bad. To top it off, the staff aren't very helpful and the elevator had broken so we had to carry all of our luggage up and down the dingy staircase.Keep away..........!!!!!!!
I chose this hotel as an alternative to a hostel, as we'd have our own room..But have to share a bathroom, which I thought would be OK. It cost us about £600 for ten nights, booked online with CheepHotels. Got there and all seemed OK until we got to our room. It was TINY with a three-quarter bed and a rickety bunk-bed. A small broken sink, a dodgy TV and an old fridge. The door didn't lock properly and you could see through the gap when it was closed. One of the window panes was missing and boarded up with cardboard. No hairdryer, no iron. It just felt REALLY dirty being in there.Consequently we checked out STRAIGHT AWAY and found a room at a Comfort Inn further downtown..Which was perfect and included a Free Breakfast. We had to pay £117 Cancellation Fee but got the remainder of the balance refunded, fortunately. The guy on reception acted like he had people complaining about the state of the place all the time !We spoke to some foreign travellers there and they told us that they'd checked in the previous night and after pulling back the bedcolthes found HAIR in the beds ! After complaining to the staff downstairs were told to remake the beds themselves !DO NOT believe the description for this hotel and DO NOT read anything into the photographs shown on the websites. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL ...! BE WARNED ...! |
