Sofitel New York hotel description>>

One of the best in the world
Reviewer: New York visitor, El Cerrito, California

I travel frequently for my job and I have stayed in my share of really nice hotels and a few too many sub-par hotels. In my opinion, the Sofitel is among the best in the world! When traveling, I place the highest priority on cleanliness and room quality. The Sofitel exceeded my expectations in both of these areas (crisp white bed linens, sparkling large bathroom, fresh clean aroma throughout, etc) The staff was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. In addition to the restaurant adjacent to the hotel, there is a fantastic (albeit pricey) restaurant a few doors down - "db - bistro moderne" (recommended by the concierge). I will definitely return to the Sofitel.

Elegant

We have stayed at the Sofitel three times and have never been dissappointed. On our most recent stay in September, I noticed that the bed linens were torn. I called the desk and spoke with the manager who was very apologetic. She immediately(within 5 mins) had the maid in our room changing the linens and apologizing. The manager also provided us with a complimentary breakfast where we could order anything on the menu. It was fabulous and served promtly. If you are looking for elegance, class, lovely rooms, great location and fabulous bathrooms......look no further because the Sofitel has it all.

A GREAT stay!

I booked this hotel through Expedia and I could not have been happier. I took my girlfriend to NYC for her 30th birthday and she was amazed! The location is great - not right on Times Square, but we walked into the Theater District in about 5 minutes for our show. The staff was gracious and helpful - I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt and at the Doubletree on Times Square and the Sofitel was head and shoulders above those two hotels in terms of service and amenities. We only had appetizers one night and breakfast our last morning there, but the food and the service were great. Rooms go for 250 and above, but if you can get this on an Expedia package I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel. We will be back.
