New York > New York Hotels > Book this hotelMilford Plaza hotel description>>
I have been going to Broadway for nearly 20 years. For the past 12 of those I have stayed at the Milford Plaza (an older hotel that has been completely refurbished). The location could not be more perfect - right around the corner are all the theatres you would want. Rooms tend to be small, but who spends time in their room when you're in New York. The staff could not be more helpful, and let's face it folks, it's the staff that sell any place. Rooms are clean, comfortable and best of all reasonably priced. As a tour director, I now take my groups to the Milford where they get the best/most for their buck. Highly recommended for those who have a budget but want cleaniness and charm.
We stayed in the Milford Plaza in September 2003. I was a little worried after readig some of the reviews, but I muat say that I was rather pleasantly surprised. The staff, bar one, were incredibly helpful and very courteous. The rooms were a little dull but I thought that they were great value for what we paid. I did feel the room was a little small, with barely enough room to walk around without tripping over something, but we spent very little time in there. The shower was fantastic and the beds were divine, better than the one I have at home. We happened to be on the 7th floor and in honestly you would have thought we were the only people on the floor it was so quiet. Somehotel staff could be a little abrupt when you go upto to your room, demanding to see your room key, but I think that they were just doing there jobs and doing it well, be prepared for that abruptness!I was a littel disappointed with the maid service in the Hotel as they did not change the towels everyday and they could have hoovered a bit more than they did, but hey, it was not so terribleThe Hotel is very well situated and is a stone's throw away from Times Square and the Theatre District, I found the location extremely central and very convienient and it is walking distance to a lot of placesAll in all I think that I enjoyed my first ever trip to the United States and I think a lot of that joy was due to the hotel being as cool as it was. I would definetly go back, although I would prefer a room with a view of something other than other windows.
Our group of 8 women checked into the Hotel Carter on 10/2 this hotel was very nasty and the NYPD told us to leave for our saftey, we walked to the Milford Plaza and they had two rooms available, we were very greatful. I do agree the rooms are small but who visits New York to stay in your room. We were please with the staff, room and the price of the room. The location is great.Better that the first hotel we checked into. I will recommend the Milford Plaza to all of my friends. |
