Marquis elevators not a problem GREAT STAY!

My fiance and I stayed and the NYC Marriott Marquis in November of 2003. I would say that our stay was wonderful. When it comes to the elevator issue, the guests are forwarned about the issues with the elevators, we had no problem. We didn't have to wait any longer than what would be consider "normal". We stayed on the concierge level (29th floor) and I will say that we had excellent service from the concierge, namely Charlie Giordano. The location was excellent and the service we got from all of the hotel staff was wonderful. If you want to stay at a hotel that is the middle of everything, this is THE place. The only thing I would say was a bit disappointing was, for the price, we would have liked a larger room. Otherwise I would give the Marriott Marquis 2 thumbs up.
Very crowded

The elevator was slow and crowded but not too bad. In general the hotel was very crowded. I tried their Japanese menu at their restaurant/Bar and was greatly disappointed - expensive, slow, and not good.
Not worth the money!

Stayed here November, 2003---terrible experience. The first morning, I woke up, went to the bathroom and discovered there was no water coming out of the faucet. I called the desk and they informed me they were having an emergency--but told me it would be several hours before the water would be turned back on! The elevators take an extremely long time to arrive during peak periods. Also, there was just far too many people around. It's good for a hotel to be busy, but it seemed like the Marriott was over-crowded and staff had difficulty dealing with it. Not worth the money at all!
