The Majestic Hotel hotel description>>

Great Location
Reviewer: New York visitor, Charlotte, NC

Loved the location. If you want theatre district, this can't be beat. Recently renovated and very clean. The rooms are small, but aren't all rooms in NYC? I paid $150 per night which was $50 cheaper than anything comparable. It was a little noisy, but not horribly so. The bar on the roof has fantastic views, though the atmosphere wasn't my scene. The staff was friendly and the room was available when I arrived at 11:00 am. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was great. The room was petite but everything was of high quality. The wood trim and faucets in the bathroom were all nice touches that you don't get in a marriott or other hotel. You get nice soap and lots of towels. The furniture is real solid wood and all looks new. When they ask if you want a room "facing in" that means you look directly into the window of the apartment across the way (about 10 feet). It wasn't bad, at least there was a window. The front desk people were helpful and friendly. The elevator a bit slow and like the other review said, it is busy at night with the bar on the top floor. I didn't find it noisy, but don't be fooled that "Theater District" doesn't mean you're that close you can walk. We went to see the Blue Man at Astors theater and it was a good 6 blocks away. We took a taxi there $10 which is cheaper than getting your car out for $35 and we walked home threw Times Square which was nice. If you go and you're under 40 you'll enjoy the Beast Boat ride at pier 16 or 48, it was a blast.

Was very pleased with the Majestic

I stayed at the Majestic for one week (Aug.18-23) for a freelance job in NYC. I was very happy with my stay. The room was very clean and quiet, with a nice, modern bathroom - including a bathtub. The water pressure was excellent. The room had a Bose radio alarm clock. The New York Times was delivered every morning. The bed was very confortable. Location is excellent and right next to Carnegie Deli. The only negatives were that the elevators can get croweded with people coming and leaving from the rooftop bar. I paid about $119-$139 a nite. I would stay there again at these rates.
