An altogether nice hotel, although relatively no-frills for a "****" establishment. The most disappointing part of my stay was when the bellboy checked my bags and reminded me that he'd not be there when I returned and I "might wanna leave a tip" if "I wanted my bags put somewhere safer." I guess if I didn't they'd be left somewhere unsafe? What kind of service is this?
Took my grandson to New York for 3 nights and stayed in 2 queen bed suite. Not in the room much but when we were, the two TV's were great. Enjoyed popcorn every evening before going to bed as we laughed and rehashed our earlier adventures. The made-to-order breakfast to begin our mornings gave us a great boost and actually were pretty good. Unless you want an omelet skip the line for special order and go for the scrambled eggs on the bar. They go fast enough that they stay fresh. The downside of this hotel is that it is a hike to the subway going to Times Square but there is a bus that stops right in front of the hotel. And it is in a very safe neighborhood!!! My grandson love riding the buses so that was not a big deal. The staff, from checkin to checkout, were so pleasant, friendly, kind and competent. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great time in New York. Stay here!!! It's wonderful!!!
I stayed at the Embassy suites hotel mid September, with my 2 girlfriends, for a mom's mental health weekend. It was awesome. I usually stay in Midtown, so I was a little nervous about being so far away from the action. No Need! The area was very alive, clean, even residential. There was a park accross the street with kids playing soccer. I drove down on the West side highway, and it was right off that, so there was little city driving. The valet parking was steep, $45, but I didn't worry about the car until I was ready to leave. The hotel was great. While walking to our room, we saw a cruise ship leaving right out the atrium window. There was a lot of activity on the Hudson, that was fun to watch. The rooms were large and quite, except for the bathroom. It seemed as if the neighbors were in our room. We shut the door, and the problem was gone. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day. Very boutiful. The exercise facility was wonderful. There was even a steam room and a sauna. (My idea of happiness.) It was close to the chambers street subway, There used to be one closer, but it hasn't been reopened yet. When we returned from our shows on broadway, the area was still bustling, so we felt fine taking the subway! A great place. The only bad thing was that I left something behind, and it hasn't been found yet. I fear I won't ever get it back.A great hotel though!! |
