New York, New York! Dah Dah...DaDaDa!

It's not the Plaza, but hey! If are of those people who stays in the room during a vacation (some people do stay in the rooms most of the time, I don't...but some do) don't stay here...but if you want to enjoy all that Manhattan has to offer stay at the Days Inn!! The location is MINT! Yeah, the service is not the best, yes the rooms are older and the bathroom shower was tricky, but one look at Times Square, and one look at Manhattan and I'm sold. The first room we had was a little too low-standard for us, but we requested a different room and it was 100% better. We enjoyed our stay regardless--afterall it is New York. The food in the hotel...what food? Just walk right outside 24 hours a day for the best pizza, burgers, corned beef, etc. in the world!I would stay again if the price was right.
Days Inn Midtown

We stayed three nights at the Days Inn Midtown, two days after the power came back on. The fan of the a/c unit in the first room we were in, barely worked; the 2nd room, no a/c at all; 3rd room had a window unit; all this happened in the first 30 minutes. The woman at the front desk was very courteous and did her very best to accommodate us under difficult circumstances. There was no coffee maker as I had thought there would be, the toiletries were barely there, the ice machine never worked so we had to go upstairs. However, it was relatively quiet, the was a Starbucks on each block, the beds were adequately comfy, the front desk and bell caps were very nice and most helpful. I may try a different hotel next time, but I've stayed at worse, and better.
Big Disappointment!

In the August heat, the "air conditioner" was totally inadequate. The room was STILL hot the next morning. The bathtub drain was plugged.
