Sarah Jessica Parker's dermatologist opens his very own spa--in the Bliss building, no less.

The Scene

On the advice of one of his devotees--a Ms. Sarah Jessica Parker--dermatologist Dr. Bradford Katchen flew to California to check out a skin care line called Epicuren. He was so impressed that he opened SkinCareLab, the only day spa on the East Coast to feature the line. Sleek and minimal, yet still welcoming, the spa is one floor up from the doctor's private practice--in the same Soho spot as well-known beauty sanctuary Bliss.

The Services

Results-oriented facials for all skin types: Masks include seaweed, self-heating and marine, with glycolic, oxygen and eye treatment add-ons available. The excellent SkinCareLab Facial uses customized Epicuren treatments and tingly hand-mixed masks, plus hand and foot massages, to leave clients happy and glowing. Body treatments include a heavenly Grape Seed Scrub (an all-over exfoliation, warm shower and light hydrating massage), mud and seaweed wraps and a citrus polish. Massage, full-body waxing and nail services (overseen by a podiatrist) are also on the menu.

Each spa client gets her own treatment room, with shower, so there's no shuttling around between services.

In the Apothecary

The spa carries hard-to-find lines like Bulgari skin care, Anthony Logistics for Men, Valmont, La Roche-Posay, Algotherm and, of course, Epicuren.

Doctor in the House

Book an appointment with Dr. Katchen for general skin concerns or aesthetic services like chemical peels, Botox, collagen, laser vein and tattoo removal and microdermabrasion.
